This morning's devotional is from Matthew 3:4 to 3:10.
People were getting baptized after repentance, change of heart, mind.
Here, John the Baptist is saying that there needs to be a fruit, a new behavior that is consistent with repentance. He is even saying to cut down and to throw into fire trees that do not bear good fruit. This is a picture of the spirit, soul and body where the Spirit of God in us initiates what we choose to think and we act accordingly. (ref 1 Thessalonians 5:23)
What are the fruits of the decisions based on your thought process? Are they good or bad? If they are bad, let us repent for a good fruit. If they are good, God may prune, cut back so that we can be even more fruitful. (ref John 15:2)
Today, let us ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to us areas in our mind that need to be corrected for prosperity in all areas. (ref 3 John 1:2)
May the Lord abundantly bless you today!
